Dear Editor,

Due to free trade agreements from countries abroad U.S companies are moving their manufacturing base here in the U.S to foreign countries because of cheap labor and low environmental regulations. This must come to a stop before it ruins our economy as a whole. U.S corporations are moving abroad and outsourcing manufactured goods which in turn it costing U.S workers their jobs. Every day more and more jobs are being lost and the gap between the rich and the poor is growing even further. Outsourcing is beneficial to the businessmen that are high in the line of business but it is negatively affecting the demand for workers. Since it is so cheap to make manufactured goods over seas CEOs or corporations are moving there industry abroad to make them more money but they don’t realize how much harm they are doing to workers in the United States. Now there are thousands of people out there with no job and families to support and for some working in factories is all they have ever done and all they know how to do, now what is one to do? People are left with nothing which is wrong. Even if some do get to keep their jobs the wages they are used to making are lowered because the demand for U.S manufactures is lower than ever. Not only is this bad for manufactures but also for the whole economy. Outsourcing takes the money out of our economy and puts it into foreign economies. Now people in the U.S are less likely to spend money because of lower wages or no job at all. With no money being spent it affects other business. For example companies like star bucks are going through difficult times now due to our slow economy. People are not spending money on small things like coffee because they simply can’t afford to like they used to. One reason for this is outsourcing takes more money out of our economy and consumers spend less. If this trend continues the U.S economy could slump. In order to get back on track Corporations need to stop outsourcing jobs and return the industry to the U.S. to save our economy!

I believe this editorial will help my essay 3 with my main points and audience appeal. I list reasons why outsourcing is bad and why corporations should keep industry in the U.S.

reflecting on source analysis

What i learned from the source analysis is what sources i will be using for my big essay. i do not have to worry about finding sources to back up my main points. I learned what qoutes i will use in my big essay and where in my essay i will use them. i really got alot out of the source analysis and it will make my big essay much easier now that i got synthesis and sources out of the way. Some similarities i see in the source analysis compared to argumentive essays is i still used the same concept of identifying an issue, giving backround info on it, and then correctly citing it. I follwed the same format in my argumentive essays that i did in my source analysis. Some differences are i wasnt really arguing a position but rather identifying my issues and showing what sources i was going to use in my essay and where i would use them. Overall i really got alot out of the source analysis and it will help me greatly when writing my big essay.

spring break hw

I believe that the reason that we have to write an essay proposal is so that we get a clear cut outline of exactly what we want to write our essay about and start to get the idea of what our thesis will be, our main points and take a position on our topic. It is valuable to us because we can take what we write in our proposal and apply it to our essay to make it much easier on us. This process would really help me in the future with my essays. I believe that it will help me develop a clear stance on this issue I’m writing about as well as help me develop a thesis and begin to create my main points.
